Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions from dads, and church leaders.
Q: Will engaging men and fathers work?
A: Note the research from the Education Department:
“When fathers are involved, their children learn more, perform better in school and exhibit healthier behavior. Even when fathers do not share a home with their children, their active involvement can have a lasting and positive impact. The Education Department is working for fuller recognition and inclusion of fathers in all of their programs because of the huge impact fathers can have on their kids.”

Q: What kinds of organizations will this work for?
A: M46 is a perfect program for any pastor, men’s leader, youth organization, or school who is not only passionate about empowering the men and fathers in their congregation or community, but they also want to give them practical tools to help them on their journey of fatherhood and mentoring.
Q: My church isn’t a member of M46, can I join?
A: Yes! You can join the M46 community by simply joining the email list for monthly discussions and weekly tips to engage the children you love and lead.
Q: Will men want to come?
A: Since our initial launch in Nashville, we have seen men who were not serving in any area at church, or were consistently showing up late (if at all) to church, not only come…but they come early, and with their children!
We have seen previously disengaged men come to the meeting because they knew the single moms of the church were dropping their son or daughter off, and they wanted to make sure they were they were there to guide the child through the discussion cards. It’s amazing what happens when we give men the opportunity to reflect the heart of God to children in a safe environment.
Q: How do I structure the monthly meetings?
A: One of the wonderful things about this digital program is that it allows you the flexibility to put your DNA on it. You are free to be creative in engaging the men in your congregation. There are only a few things we suggest that you keep in mind when planning your M46 meetings:
- Be consistent – Try to pick a day and time that will be consistent for your church or organization. Canceling or postponing meetings due to schedule conflicts, holidays, or other things make it difficult to build and sustain momentum.
- Be brief – We firmly believe that less is more. Keeping your monthly meetings to around 1 hour gives you plenty of time to go through the M46 PowerPoint slides and allows the dads and mentors time to talk to the kids.
- Be mindful – Try to get a pulse of how many children or youth don’t have a father in the home that will need one of your men to serve as a “mentor” during the meeting. This will help you recruit men to attend your M46 meeting because they will know that they are desperately needed.
Q: We are already doing a men’s curriculum, won’t this compete with it?
A: No. M46 is an father and mentor engagement program to allow your church or organization to be intentional in turning the hearts of father and mentors to children. M46 can serve as a great compliment to your men’s curriculum because it gives them a way to live out what they are learning in your group. It can also be a great recruitment tool to mobilize previously disengaged men, into active participants within your church or organization.
